These meat free pitta pizzas are fun to make, tasty to eat and perfect for spooky season!

Ingredients

  • 4 wholemeal pittas
  • 75 g (approx.) dairy-free grated cheese
  • tomato passata
  • 6 chestnut mushrooms, cut in half
  • fresh basil leaves

Method

Pre-heat the oven to 200°C/400°F /gas mark 6.

Slice the mushrooms in half and, using a metal straw, pierce holes to create ‘eyes’ in the mushrooms. Then, using a cocktail stick or skewer, create lines for the ‘nose’ and ‘teeth’.

Build the pitta pizzas by adding tomato passata to each of them. Sprinkle over dairy-free cheese and then add 3 spooky mushroom halves to each one.

Bake in the oven for around 15 minutes, or until the cheese starts to melt and the mushrooms are cooked. Add fresh basil leaves to the top before serving.
