Meat Free Monday One day a week can make a world of difference

Have a game plan

Check out restaurant menus before you go. If there’s not a lot that looks meat free, phone ahead and ask. With advance notice, most establishments will be able to offer you something really tasty.

Speak out!

If you’re in a restaurant which has limited meat free options, speak to the staff. If restaurant managers become aware of the demand for meat free dishes, it’s more likely they’ll green their offerings in future! Oh, and ask if they’d consider offering a Meat Free Monday menu and promotions too!

Get a passport!

If you’re travelling abroad and want to order plant-based dishes confidentially, get hold of a Vegan Passport.

Don’t knock the sides

If the meat free mains don’t take your fancy, or there aren't any, check out the sides – you might find rice, beans, corn-on-the-cob, seasonal veg, hummus and more.

Join the chain gang

Most chain restaurants now have plant-based options or a full vegan menu.
