Start cutting the carrots, peeling the parsnips and sautéing the seitan – today is the start of Meat Free Week!

Now in its seventh year, Meat Free Week, run by Bowel Cancer Australia, will run until Sunday 29 September with the aim of getting us thinking about how much meat we eat and the impact that consuming too many animal products has on both people and planet. So if you’ve been thinking about taking your Meat Free Mondays a step further, this is a great opportunity …

Under the tagline “Live Well. Eat Well. Be Well”, participants are encouraged to take the Meat Free Week Challenge – to skip meat, or meat and dairy, for seven days while raising funds for great causes, including Meat Free Monday!

Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney said: “Taking part in Meat Free Week is a fun and easy way to have a positive impact on the planet and on our health. It’s also a way to become familiar with a whole variety of meat free foods and extend our range of imaginative menus. Enjoy!”
