We invited children and young people to share the meals they like to eat on a Meat Free Monday – to show world leaders at the COP26, and everyone else, that eating green is easy and delicious!

A series of mathematical activities involving proportion and conversion between different units of measure. These introduce MFM and, by working through the relevant calculations, encourage students to explore the facts in the MFM documentary short ‘One Day a Week’ for themselves.

* GUEST RESOURCE * Meat Free Monday: The Kitchen Samba

Created by Keir Crawley, Head of Performing Arts at Preston Manor All Through Co-operative Trust School, this is an exciting four-lesson unit which aims to develop Year 6 and 7 students’ understanding of rhythm, ostinato and syncopation using Samba – and all within the context of Meat Free Monday. The unit explores the basic patterns found in Samba music and develops them using items found in a typical kitchen: sieves, whisks, baking trays, dustbins, cutlery and blenders!
