Lentil Burgers

Satisfy your appetite for a totally delicious meat-free burger that’s easy to cook and ready in no time.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked lentils
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ¼ cup green peppers, chopped
  • ½ cup red onions, chopped
  • soy sauce, to taste
  • BBQ sauce, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, to cook (use more if necessary)

Method

Cook the onions, green peppers, garlic and spices together with the oil until they become soft.

Add salt, pepper and the sauces. Stir well and let the mixture cool.

Place the lentils in a large bowl and add the vegetable mix. Combine well.

Add the breadcrumbs, and water if necessary.

Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and create individual patties.

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large frying pan over a medium heat. Add two burgers and cook for 4 minutes per side. Repeat again for the remaining burgers, adding more olive oil as required.
