Meat Free Monday attended a special London screening of All the World is Green last weekend – a powerful documentary that examines the impact of food production on the planet and the choices we can make to help protect it.
Directed by Mirko Pincelli, written by Andrea Maffi, produced by Pinch Media and co-produced by the Chellaram Foundation, the 68-minute film brings together leading voices including moral philosopher Peter Singer, environmental writer George Monbiot, nutritionist Marion Nestle and marine conservation biologist Callum Roberts.
Spanning Asia, Europe and North America, All the World is Green investigates how our appetite for animal products has pushed ecosystems to the brink while enriching a handful of powerful corporations.
The film is packed with startling statistics. Among them is the fact that around half of the world’s habitable land is used for agriculture, with 67 per cent of this devoted to grazing livestock and a further 13 per cent used to grow animal feed.
But this is not a story of despair. Instead, the film poses a simple question: if our food choices helped create the problem, could they also be part of the solution?
All the World is Green is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and Vimeo on Demand.
