The famous eatery, which was established four years ago this month by manager James Hooper (pictured above), is a new supporter of the campaign and is giving away a meal for two, worth £50, to celebrate.
Maidstone’s first vegetarian and vegan café , Fortify was a finalist in the Kent Restaurant Awards 2009 and named one of the top 10 things to do in Maidstone in Kent Life magazine in 2010.
It serves delicious mains including falafel burgers, moussaka, roast veg crumble and Mediterranean lasagne, using local produce where possible, and serves only English wine, beer and cider.
The Fortify Café is wholeheartedly behind the Meat Free Monday campaign. “It’s the best thing about Monday… and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” says Hooper.
