In addition to encouraging individual members to go meat-free one day a week, the group is also targeting groups and restaurants. Group members are being encouraged to lobby for meat-free dishes in their cafeterias every Monday, while restaurant members are encouraged to offer a Monday menu where one-third of the dishes come without meat. We wish them the best of luck with their efforts.
Welcome Meat Free Monday Taiwan
Meat Free Monday is getting just about everywhere these days. A new MFM group has just been formed in Taipei, Taiwan, urging people to refrain from eating meat every Mondays to help fight climate change. As one of the group’s leaders, Hsu Jen-hsiu, rightly says eating less or no meat is a way to love our planet because livestock emit large volumes of methane into the atmosphere, which contribute more to global warming than the emissions produced by all the vehicles around the world.
