Eating Animals is the first non-fiction title from American writer Jonathan Safran Foer – author of Everything Is Illuminated and Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close – and documents his conversion to vegetarianism.

Spurred on by the imminent birth of his first child, for whom he will have to make decisions about what to eat, Foer goes on a pilgrimage to discover where the food on his plate comes from, looking at the reality of meat production in the States, and factory farms that “treat living animals like dead ones”.
