Cook School
“Small changes can make a big difference, and Meat Free Monday is a great example of that. At Cook School, we help children and students to understand food, and how to cook simple, vegetarian meals. We think it’s really important to know how doing both of these things can help us all to be healthy and to have a healthier planet. We love Meat Free Monday and what it stands for, which is why we’d encourage everyone, of all ages, to join in.”
Cook School was launched a few years ago by award-winning children’s cookbook author and food writer Amanda Grant and her partner, Kristian Dean. Together, with their team, they teach children in schools across the UK how to cook vegetarian meals for themselves and their families. So far 50,000 children have attended a Cook School class, and the team has recently launched a delivery recipe box to help keep children cooking at home. Proceeds from each box help to fund education programmes in schools.
